About Dr. McMath
Dr. Griffin McMath brings an unusually broad perspective to naturopathic medicine, shaped by her experience in clinical care, cultural and medical anthropology, healthcare leadership and administration, research, and health education. Her career has taken her across clinical settings, communities, and healthcare organizations, giving her a deep appreciation for how people's health is influenced by their biology, circumstances, environments, and access to care.
Her clinical experience includes working with patients across different ages, stages of life, and health needs, from performance and preventive health to complex medical concerns and supportive care. Beyond direct patient care, she has administered integrative wellness programming within an academic oncology setting, contributed to published research, and developed educational initiatives reaching patients, healthcare professionals, and audiences around the world. Her leadership work has included strengthening the scientific rigor of health information, building educational resources and systems, and improving communication and collaboration between conventional and integrative healthcare disciplines.
These experiences helped shape her decision to establish Colorado Naturopathic House Calls. Dr. McMath recognizes how much work patients are often expected to do simply to navigate their healthcare: researching symptoms, comparing highly specialized services, coordinating multiple providers, interpreting conflicting information, and determining which recommendations are realistic for their lives. The time, expense, and organizational demands can become substantial, particularly when someone is managing several concerns at once.
Her approach draws on the broad clinical foundation of naturopathic medical training to help patients bring those pieces together. She welcomes people with overlapping concerns, extensive medical histories, or questions they haven't yet been able to organize into a clear starting point. She takes responsibility for reviewing and synthesizing information, identifying priorities, explaining the reasoning behind clinical decisions, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Patients can bring their full story without having to determine in advance which part of it belongs to which specialty.
Lifestyle medicine, patient education, and collaborative decision-making are central to her work. Dr. McMath especially enjoys working with people who want to understand their health, establish strong foundations, and develop an ongoing relationship with a provider who knows their history and circumstances. Her goal is to make healthcare easier to navigate, recommendations more practical to follow, and the time patients spend managing their health more worthwhile—so they have more time and energy for the lives they want to lead.
